Heading into the meeting, Roy Cop was leading the Overall and Manufacturer Drivers' Championship by eighty-three points from Michael Sneath. Cop would win both titles if Sneath failed to outscore him by 20 points over the meeting. Nissan Janspeed Racing was leading the Manufacturer's Team Championship by thirty-three points from Kaliber ICS Team Toyota. In the Independent Driver's Championship, Mike Bell lead Kris Simton by thirty-six points. Bell would win the title if Simton failed to outscore him by 7 points over the meeting. However it was Simton's Auto Trader Techspeed Team which lead the Independent Team's Championship over ACE Motorsport by fourteen points.
